The Chronicles Of Narnia - Prince Caspian :))

Seldom comes a movie that you've waited for this desperately and this long and proves to be worth it all when youve watched it, a product u really wanna defend this hard from the critical panning, a movie thats pure genious from the very first frame, not just the story, or the editing, or the effects, its the brilliant simplicity of the narrative tha' blows you away. I remember having watched the first installment, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe roughly two years back, wasn't really expecting much, given how stubborn I was not to accept tha anything could ever outdo the Harry Potter series in this genre. And its plain stupid of anyone to slot them in the same genre. Narnia is a lot more than witches, magic, centuars and brave kids who manage to save the day, the first part was actually allegorical to the crucification of Christ and given how less I knoe of Christianity, I came to knoe about it from the papers after having watched the movie :)) . The second installment , good-Lord, has been worked on with a lot more subtlety than other computer-aided movies that tend to have no mercy on the any self-respecting adult watching it, whod rather appreciate a well thought storyboard than extravagent special effects that begin 10 minutes into the movie and practically last until flying, climbing, and clogging the bad guys mouth with cobwebs begins to seem as mundane as weekend laundary. The first half is extensively building the plot, how the four siblings, a human year after their previous adventure are called back into the magical land of Narnia, only to discover that the Narnians have almost been driven to extinction by the humans, and they've got to save the day with the aid of a certain Prince Caspian whose been cheated and deprived off his throne by the quintessential jealous+mean+ruthless uncle, who neva fails to save a place in royal storylines. The special effects , camera angles, and the details of every single scene in the second half of this movie is pure magic. Aslan makes a brief appearance in the last hour of the movie, saving the day and sharing the million-times-heard-before words of wisdom, as quite expected. Andrew clearly has done a lot more to the movie than the magic, every two characters picked at randomn hav managed atleast a scene in the movie that helps getting their equation across clearly. Theres a brief romance between the Prince and Susan that concludes with a swift kiss-and-a-hug as the four kids walk back to England, with a certainity that Peter and Susan would never return back again. This movie disappoints no-one, neither the ones who've read the series, not the ones nuts over the first part, and i speak for all since ive enjoyed both categories :) . One magical movie, Im glad I didn' miss it.
